It has been a great year for Laser sailing in 2014. We saw a 22% increase in the number of skippers competing in the district circuit events this year.

We had 11 boats in full rig plus two radials and a 4.7 at Summer Solstice hosted by Seabrook Sailing Club. Everything from light winds on flat water to gusty winds in chop was on the menu.

Next stop is the District Championship in Palacios, Texas near Victoria in a joint event with TSA youth circuit Aug 16-17. NOR will be posted here shortly.
We had 23 boats on the line at Wurstfest making the Laser fleet the largest class in the regatta. Strong shifting winds made it a challenge for everyone. Be sure to put this regatta on your schedule next year.
Congratulations to all the skippers who participated in the Laser District 15. The final district standings as been posted. Doug Peckover won the circuit in full rig while Lenox Butcher won in radial. There were 92 skippers participating this year’s circuit which is the highest in 5 years. Keep the training up and see you next year.
